The Detroit Public Television September 2008 Membership Drive is coming September 5 through September 20. There are still many openings for shifts answering pledge phones on TV.

Let's give DPTV one more reason to add Democracy Now to their daily schedule by showing our commitment to public television.

Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman and producers Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar have been arrested while covering a protest at the Republican National Convention in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.

ST. PAUL, MN—Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman was unlawfully arrested in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota at approximately 5 p.m. local time. Police violently manhandled Goodman, yanking her arm, as they arrested her. Video of her arrest can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYjyvkR0bGQ
